Who we are

Milled Carbon UK Milled Carbon Limited is a privately funded company. It was formed to research and develop processes for the recovery of carbon fibres from various industrial and post consumer waste streams.

This research had two objectives:

To offer an alternative to landfill/incineration.

The disposal of waste carbon fibre from both industrial and post consumer is an increasing environmental issue. Currently there are no commercial processes to recycle carbon fibre; today there is only landfill or incineration.

To expand the use of carbon fibre.

Traditional carbon fibre has been limited to markets like aerospace but we wanted to provide a source of carbon fibre which still has usable physical properties at an affordable price.. We operate a thermo/chemical process CARBONCLEAN which can handle most carbon fibre composite manufacturing waste and cured component parts.

In 2005 we opened our first production operation in Birmingham, UK. The production area is 6000 sq meters with office area 2000 sq meters. It is capable of processing about 500 tons of waste carbon fibre per year. It can process uni-directional / woven rolls of pre=preg, off-cuts and cured composite component parts up to two meters in width on a continuous basis.
